1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "you") and our platform ("we", "us", or "our"). By accessing our website, creating an account, or using our services, you expressly agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree to all terms and conditions herein, you must immediately cease accessing or using our services.

2. Platform Description

We provide an online tool that lets you rank football players from club squads, national teams or your own custom lists by choosing between two players each round. You can share your rankings, compare them with aggregated community rankings, and request squads or players that are missing. We also offer accounts, subscriptions, credits and support. Available features and prices are shown on the corresponding pages.

3. User Accounts & Security

• Eligibility — You must be at least 18 years old or have reached the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction to create an account and use paid services.
• Account Confidentiality — You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and for all activities conducted under your account. You must immediately notify us of any unauthorized account access.
• One Account Per User — Automated creation of multiple accounts or exploiting introductory credits is strictly prohibited.

4. Credits, Billing, and Subscriptions

• Credits System — Credit balances and transaction history are available in your account. Applicable charges are shown before use.
• Credit Consumption — Credits are deducted when you use a feature that requires them. If the feature fails because of a system error on our side, the deducted credits will be automatically returned to your balance.
• Purchases & Expiration — Purchased credit packages and recurring subscriptions are non-refundable once you have started using them, except as described in our Refund Policy or where mandated by applicable consumer protection laws.
• Price Adjustments — We reserve the right to adjust prices, credit packages or the credits required by a feature, with prior notification displayed on our pricing page.

5. Ownership & Intellectual Property Rights

• Your Content — You retain ownership of and responsibility for the content you submit, such as custom player lists, squad requests, support messages and attachments. You represent that you have the necessary rights to submit it.
• Your Rankings — Rankings you complete may be stored and combined anonymously with other users' rankings to produce community statistics. Community statistics never show who submitted an individual ranking.
• Player Data & Photos — Player names, squad lists and team details are factual information provided for fan entertainment. Player photos come from Wikimedia Commons and are used under their respective free licences; attribution is listed on our photo credits page.
• No Affiliation — We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any club, league, federation or player. Club names, crests, competition names and other trademarks belong to their respective owners.
• Platform IP — All platform code, user interfaces, branding, graphics, logos, and proprietary workflows remain our exclusive property and are protected under international copyright and intellectual property treaties.

6. Content Standards & Prohibited Categories (AUP)

You agree that when using our services, you will strictly comply with applicable laws and ethical standards. You are strictly prohibited from submitting, storing, soliciting, uploading, or distributing content — including in custom lists, squad requests, display names, support messages and shared rankings — that falls into the following six prohibited categories:

1. Pornography / NSFW — Strictly prohibits pornographic content, sexually explicit or not-safe-for-work (NSFW) material, sexually suggestive material, as well as non-consensual sexual content or non-consensual intimate imagery (NCII).
2. Violence / Gore — Strictly prohibits content depicting extreme gore, physical mutilation, animal cruelty, inciting or promoting suicide or self-harm, terrorism, or violent extremism.
3. Hate Speech — Strictly prohibits discriminatory, derogatory, hateful, threatening, harassing, or cyberbullying speech targeting any individual or protected group based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, or disability, including abuse directed at players, referees or fans.
4. Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) — Absolute zero-tolerance policy. Soliciting, uploading, hosting, or disseminating any child sexual abuse material, child sexual exploitation and abuse (CSAM / CSAE), minor nudity, or content endangering minors is categorically prohibited. Violations will lead to immediate, permanent account termination and referral to law enforcement authorities and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC).
5. Impersonation / Fraud — Strictly prohibits impersonating people or entities without consent, including posing as a club, league, player or our team, as well as engaging in fraud, scams or distributing severe disinformation.
6. Copyright & Trademark Infringement — Strictly prohibits uploading or distributing content that infringes upon third-party copyrights, registered trademarks, trade secrets, patents, or other intellectual property rights, including unauthorized use of club crests, logos or copyrighted photos.

Furthermore, you may not use the services for reverse engineering, malware compilation, cyberattacks, scraping private APIs, manipulating community rankings with automated or bulk submissions, or attempting to bypass system guardrails and rate limits.

7. Content Review

We may review user reports and take action against content or accounts that violate these terms.

8. User Reporting Channel & Violation Enforcement

• Reporting Mechanism: If you discover any content or conduct on our platform that violates these Content Standards or infringes your rights, please report it immediately to support@playersorter.com with the subject line "[Content Moderation Report]". Please include:
  1. The URL of the page or shared ranking concerned;
  2. The violation category (e.g., hate speech, infringement, impersonation) and a brief description;
  3. Supporting screenshots or evidence, if applicable.
• Response Timeline: Our trust and safety team reviews reports promptly, typically within 24 to 48 hours upon receipt.
• Enforcement Actions: Upon confirming a violation, we reserve the right to take appropriate disciplinary actions based on severity, including:
  1. Immediate removal or deletion of the offending content;
  2. Temporary restriction of submission or sharing features;
  3. Permanent account termination with forfeiture of unused credits without refund;
  4. In cases involving CSAM or severe illegality, referral to law enforcement and reporting agencies (such as NCMEC).
• Appeals: If you believe your account was restricted or terminated due to an error or false positive, you may submit an appeal to support@playersorter.com with supporting explanation and evidence for re-evaluation.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The platform and its services are provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. Squad lists, player details and community statistics are provided for entertainment and may be incomplete or out of date. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

10. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall our platform, its affiliates, directors, or service providers be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages (including loss of profits, data, or business goodwill) arising out of your access to or inability to use our services, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

11. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the platform at any time with or without cause if we reasonably determine that you have violated these Terms or engaged in unauthorized activity. You may discontinue your use of the service and delete your account at any time via your account settings.

12. Modifications to These Terms

We may update these Terms periodically to reflect product updates or legal obligations. We will notify users of significant amendments by updating the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of our platform after updates indicates your agreement to the revised Terms.
